Our Holy Hope - 1 Thessalonians 3:13
Pastor Verne continues our verse-by-verse teaching of 1 Thessalonians with 1 Thessalonians 3:13. We’ll consider, “Our Holy Hope.” The context of this verse builds upon the prayer of the Apostle Paul that, “the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all” (3:12). The results of increasing and abounding love results are being established, blamelessness, and holiness. Our love for one another and for all is to be firm and immovable. This love is a blameless love. The faults and complaints we have with one another are to be reconciled, just as God’s love has accomplished for us. This love is a holy love. This is a set-apart love because this is a divine love. Holiness is also sanctifying. God is working in us through our relationships to progressively develop Christ-like character in us, so we may please Him.
