God’s Gift Received - Luke 2:1-20

Pastor Verne preaching from Luke 2:1-20 on, “God’s Gift Received.” We’ll learn about the arrival of Jesus in verses 1-7. The historical background surrounding the birth of the Lord Jesus displays the handiwork of God. History was moving toward the glorious day of Jesus’ arrival according to Micah 5:2. Verses 8-14 goes on to describe the announcement to the shepherds by an angel of the Lord. The announcement declared the birth of a Savior, Who is Christ the Lord. This announcement was accompanied with joy, glory, and peace. The summary of this spectacular event is given in verses 15-20 with the acceptance of the shepherds. The shepherds went with haste and found Mary and Joseph and the Babe. Afterwards, the shepherds made known the good news and returned glorifying and praising God.
