Hope in Suffering Like Jesus - 1 Thessalonians 2:15-16
Pastor Verne preaching on, “Hope in Suffering Like Jesus” from 1 Thessalonians 2:15-16. In addressing the suffering of the Thessalonian Christians, the Apostle Paul directed their attention to the greatest sufferer of all. The Lord Jesus is the One Who suffered and died in our place. The death of the Lord Jesus was predicted in the Old Testament and proven in the New Testament. The cross and the empty tomb are the center point of the Bible. These verses also identify the suffering of God’s people who were undergoing persecution. The primary hindrance was the attempts of the enemies of the cross to stop the declaration of the gospel. Their opposition was kindling God’s wrath as the gospel presents the remedy of forgiveness. The suffering of Jesus is a reminder to us in our suffering. We know that God is working and suffering is not the end. We are convinced that the Lord is with us and loves us, and that His love has no end. And we believe that God is worthy, and we can trust Him to the end.
