Hope Like a Father - 1st Thessalonians 2:10-12

We return to our verse-by-verse journey in First Thessalonians. “Hope Like a Father” is the title of the sermon from First Thessalonians 2:10-12. The church is a family as the example of a mother and father are used to illustrate how we are to behave in Christ’s church. These verses will teach us that the church is a place of caring (2:7-9), the church is a place of instruction (2:10-11), and the church is a place of value (2:12). “Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her” (Ephesians 5:25). We too, ought to love the church and give ourselves to her. This is how we walk worthy of God as we anticipate His kingdom and glory.
