The Humble Joy of Caring for One Another
Pastor Verne preaching on Philippians 4:10-11a so we may consider “The Humble Joy of Caring for One Another.” The Apostle Paul begins the final portion of this letter commenting about his joy because of the church’s care for him. We’ll learn that the effect of caring for one another is joy. Joy is located in God alone. God is the Giver of genuine joy. How do I attain this joy? Joy comes with surrender and dependence on the Lord. The Lord is supreme and sovereign, and He is our Owner and Master. Secondly, we’ll learn the enrichment of caring for one another is joy. We are to be ready, willing, and available to care for one another. This is a mark of a healthy God honoring church. And thirdly, we’ll learn that the experience of caring for one another is joy. God’s plan rests in His timing and leading. We are to be led by God in caring for one another. God’s providence, which is His divine guidance and care will open doors of opportunity to display care as we seek and follow the Lord.
